Transport, a small but vitally important division that slots deftly into the overall efficient coordination and management of your next TV/Film production.
CARS4CAST (Previously known as PRW Chauffeurs Ltd) a TV & Film Unit Cars company, is the new name for the 10-year-old established PRW transport team based in Manchester. The new name now reflects exactly what we do, which is to provide transport teams purely for TV/Film. We don’t provide cars and drivers for private chauffeur commissions or anything else for that matter.
We are particularly well known in the northwest, although we regularly handle transport across the length and breadth of the country. Most recently we have provided transport for Channel 5’s ‘All Creatures Great & Small’ for 4 months in the Yorkshire Dales and Disney + ‘Wedding Season’ which saw our transport team moving from several weeks in the Highlands of Scotland south to Manchester, Morecambe and London.
We recognise that you have many decisions to make in terms of building each of the departments that make up a fully functioning production team and you really don’t need to be spending a lot of time worrying about a transport team that you may not have worked with previously. You can, however, take comfort in the knowledge that even if you haven’t worked with CARS4CAST before, many of your industry colleagues have.
Our team of unit drivers have also worked together for many years. So, that 5.30am scheduled pick up for your principal cast member, who may not be feeling particularly bright and cheery, will be greeted by the driver with a smile and warm welcome … then left alone to snooze or run lines, whilst we travel them safely to base.
Our well experienced drivers will use common sense and their initiative in cases where a cast member is late coming out. Your 2nd AD will be kept informed. During ‘hours on camera’ CARS4CAST drivers stand ready and happy to carry out whatever the 2nd AD or Runner requires of them, whether that be a Costa run or any other special mission.
As a unit driver we cannot help but overhear certain conversations that take place during journey times. Trust is imperative. Discretion and confidentiality are a given, whatever your Cast or HOD’s discuss in the car, stays in the car, and will never be repeated. Our drivers know that any indiscretion on their part will be treated very seriously as this reflects badly on the whole CARS4CAST team.
