Our Backstory.
Prior to establishing his own business in 2012 (PRW Chauffeurs Ltd) our Managing Director, Paul Walton was himself a Unit Driver for many years. Recognised for his extrovert personality and of course, an ability to do the job particularly well, he built an enviable ‘little black book’ of contacts until eventually taking a leap of faith and striking out on his own. Over the past 10 years, the company has gone from strength to strength and has built a solid reputation for providing an excellent service backed by a team of professional, courteous, and discreet drivers. We obviously know our business and the TV/Film industry exceptionally well. It is often the case that a Production’s transport requirements ‘flex’ due to guest artists being brought in on a temporary, short-term basis. For those occasions when all our own drivers are fully occupied on other Production’s across the country, we know many other trusted, freelance, fully badged, and licensed drivers who we may call upon from time to time, to ensure continuity of the transport service.
This year we have decided to make several changes. This includes moving both our registered office and trading address to Glossop in the High Peak. In addition, we felt that although we have traded successfully over the last 10 years as PRW Chauffeurs Limited., it would now be the right time to change our company name to something that better reflects exactly who we are and what we do. CARS4CAST Limited was born on September 30th 2021 although it is only now as we begin a busy 2022 that we announcing the fact with the launch of our brand new website.
Vehicle Fleet.
Our fleet of 10 Mercedes V Class & Viano People Carriers and S Class Limousines are regularly checked and well maintained by a specialist Mercedes mechanics team. The current Mercedes-Benz slogan is “The best or nothing”. This phrase helps represent what Mercedes-Benz as a brand stands for. Mercedes-Benz promises to deliver “the best or nothing” through everything they do, and this is exactly what we at CARS4CAST aspire to.
Legal & Fully Compliant.
Importantly, you can rest assured that all our cars and drivers are current and legally registered with our licensing authority and fully compliant with the rules and regulations demanded of a private hire transport company. You may consider, it’s perfectly reasonable to believe that all unit cars and their drivers are fully legal but sadly, that is not always the case. An unlicensed vehicle or driver carries potential serious ramifications for your production. Please, always ask for copies of driver badges and DBS certificates from whoever drives on your current or next production.
Covid 19 Protocol.
Whilst we must all take every precaution to keep each other safe from Covid infection, all CARS4CAST vehicles have been fitted with full, floor to ceiling COVID screens. We do not normally allow any passengers to travel in the front of the vehicle with the driver.
We request that both driver and passengers always wear face masks and use sanitiser which is readily available inside every vehicle. We will always attempt to keep the car well ventilated. Our recommendation is a maximum of 2 passengers to travel in the rear of our Mercedes People Carriers for up to a travel time of 20 minutes. Beyond that time, we recommend only 1 passenger per vehicle. However, this is very much at the discretion of the production.
Minibuses will carry a maximum of 6 passengers in any one journey, again no passengers will travel in the front of the vehicle. We provide hand sanitiser inside all the buses, and we ask that passengers sanitise their hands on entering and exiting the vehicles. We do not allow the consumption of food inside any vehicle therefore face masks should be always worn.
All drivers are very well versed in COVID security and will do their best to ensure the safety of all personnel both onboard the vehicle and off.
These protocols are designed by our management team as basic security and we hope they meet with your approval but if you have any concerns or wish to modify the procedures, please don’t hesitate to contact us @ cars4cast.tv
Sustainability.
The BAFTA Albert initiative exists to promote sustainability in TV and Film and which CARS4CAST fully support. Like you, we are very concerned about the environment and most of our vehicles are already ULEZ compliant. As much as we would like to replace the fleet with fully electric vehicles, the investment cost is currently prohibitive. This, combined with the countrywide lack of charge points is a real concern.
However, if your production would like to discuss with us the potential shared hire of a fully electric vehicle/s for the run of the production, we would be more than happy to oblige. We would of course, arrange to have the vehicle licensed for private hire with our regulatory authority and obtain the required ‘hire and reward’ insurance.
